Joseph Beeching is an artist living and working in London. His practice is predominantly focused on photography as well as the use of archival imagery. He is currently undertaking an MA at SOAS in Southeast and Pacific Asia studies. The majority of his photographic practice is intertwined with his research and observations of the everyday. In his project To One In Paradise, the artist traces back his family connections to Hong Kong through the ambience of artefacts and the inhabitants of its land, which describes the region. There is a strong notion of conscientious softness to the images in this series, which carries an intimacy and closeness. This notion is carried onto his archival project Haiku in the Sun. Which the artist gives new life to found images in searching for something in between reality and a distant memory.
